Welcome to the Eliahu Cup official blog. The Eliahu Cup is an ice hockey playoff pool championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League playoff pool champion. Commonly referred to as the "bagel cup" because of a tradition of placing a bagel on top when awarded. The Eliahu Cup is a receptacle that enables holding and celebratory drinking of wine, preferably Maneschevitz, out of the cup by the winning General Manager. Cup winners keep the cup in their care over the course of the year.
The Eliahu Cup hails from Tel Aviv, where it was purchased in December '08 after a heavy haggling session. Returning from Israel, the Eliahu Cup was stored for a week in London before going to Vancouver.
