Points for 1st Game Night

Here are the points for the first game night. It would be ideal to create a spreadsheet, with accurately spelled names, to plug this data into. Any volunteers? For now, lets just ponder this evening's scores.

1. Jack = 7: Ovechkin (2), Backstrom (1), Parise (2), Richards (1), Edler (1)
2. Horowitz = 5: Langenbrunner (2), Letang (1), Daniel Sedin (2)
3. Yoni = 5: Crosby (2), Malkin (2), Brodeur (1)
4. MOD = 4: Whitney (1), Salo (1), Henrik Sedin (1) Luongo (1)
5. Ari = 3: Green (2) Semin (1)
6. Alex = 1: Gonchar (1)

Cup-up-date

A few items for my fellow GMs to rumenate on:

1. There has been talk of Jack bringing in another GM, his friend and colleague Frank, post ipso facto Monday's draw. After giving it some deep thought Frank realized it would be a kamakaze manouver to select a team based on St. Louis, NY, Mtrl and the other longshot players. Frank has decided to withdraw this consideration. Accordingly, there remains no change to the number of teams (6) in this year's draft.

2. I've taken the Elijahu Cup to the place across the street for engraving. The price is $20.00 each time they do an engraving. They treat the cup's name and the winner's names (different fonts, different sizes, different places on the cup) as separate engravings. To save $20.00 I decided to go for the cup name this time and to inscribe the name of last year's winner at the same time that we do this year's winner. Total price for the cup and cup name engraving is going to be $70.00 (give or take a bit with taxes). It should suffice if everyone pays $12.00. Ari and Alex have each paid $10.00, Horowitz has paid $6.00, Jack and Yoni are yet to pay.

3. It would be great if somebody were to provide a point tally once in a while. Last year Horowitz did a great job with this and Ari was always there to provide accuracy to account for Horowitz's spelling and mathematical errors (again, I like to tease Horowitz). Do you guys want to provide some updates on how our teams fare in the first few games? Of course, we should expect Malkin and Crosby to rack up some big ones before they fade away in to oblivion.

4. Washington GM, Jack Dayan, is going to the game to watch his number one draft pick Alex Ovechkin (#8) and team from the player's club tonight. Lets wish Jack a good game! All others, make sure you check out the TV tonight. Earlier this morning I posted game times.
